Between the Lines

SPEAKER SERIES

FIRST EVENT  November 7, 2023, 4:30–5:45 pm

The Between the Lines Speaker Series is a quarterly gathering that brings together community stakeholders and literacy experts to discuss topics at the intersection of literacy and equity. These quarterly gatherings will help to build and support our capacity to address the literacy achievement gap in Forsyth County.

Literacy strengthens every part of our community, and it will take a community-wide effort to ensure that all children in our community can find their best future through the benefits of literacy. We know that an important part of the equation is research-based literacy instruction, but what else will it take to significantly increase literacy rates in our community and close the opportunity gap?

In this first event of our Between the Lines Speaker Series, award-winning journalist Emily Hanford will share her insights after traveling across the country and speaking with educators, caregivers, families, and other stakeholders about effective literacy instruction. Her presentation will be followed by a panel discussion.

Join us for the first event in our series on November 7, 2023, 4:30-:5:45 pm.
