Find Your Way to Make an Impact with Love Literacy

Helping children become strong readers takes more than a single program. It takes a community.

At Love Literacy, volunteers, partners, and advocates all play a role in ensuring children are reading on grade level and building the skills they need to thrive in school and in life.

Whether you have time, expertise, or connections to share, there’s a meaningful way to get involved.

“Tutoring creates a special connection, and seeing a student grow in confidence and succeed is incredibly rewarding.”

– John, Volunteer Tutor

“The mission of The Pre-K Priority is based on collective impact principles and the belief that we are stronger together when working toward systems change. Partnering with Forsyth County for Grade-Level Reading has broadened our coalition and helped align additional supports that benefit both initiatives.”

– Leslie Mullinix, The Pre-K Priority Project Director, Family Services

“I serve on the Love Literacy board because I believe, deeply, that every child deserves the right to read. Literacy isn’t just about books; it’s about access, confidence, and opportunity. When a child learns to read, doors start opening everywhere…academically, socially, and even in how they see themselves and their future. Being a part of this work is both joyful and purposeful for me!”

– Alie Brinegar, M.Ed., Lower School Assistant Director, Forsyth Country Day School
